What is Process Capability?

Measuring Process Capability 

Process capability is typically measured using two important parameters: the process capability index (Cp) and the process performance index (Cpk).

  1. Cp (Process Capability Index): Cp measures the potential capability of a process to produce items within specifications.     • USL: Upper Specification Limit

  3. Cpk (Process Performance Index): Cpk, on the other hand, considers both the process variation and the process mean relative to the specification limits.
